The Alexandria Sportsman’s Club honored the high school March Athletes of the Month at its March 19 meeting at the Old Dominion Boat Club. The meeting featured presentations on high school spring sports teams.

In May, the organization will hold its 68th Annual ASC Awards Banquet May 28 at the Westin Alexandria Old Town. For the first time, the ASC will award a scholarship for students who want to pursue vocational or technical education after graduating from high school. The purpose of this scholarship is to make education more accessible for students who want to gain specific skills and certifications for a trade or technical career. Inspired by the late local philanthropist Marion Moon, one vocational scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded this spring to a high school senior in the City of Alexandria.
