George Washington Birthday Parade

Thousands of spectators will gather in Old Town Alexandria for the nation’s oldest and largest George Washington Birthday Parade. This year’s theme, George Washington: America’s Commander-in-Chief, commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War and the founding of the United States Army. Lieutenant General Heidi J. Hoyle, Deputy Chief of Staff of the United States Army, will serve as the Grand Marshal. Don’t miss this patriotic celebration! Parade registration ends January 31. General Washington, portrayed by Brian Hilton, will be your host, while Dr. Peter Henriques, Professor of History, Emeritus at George Mason University, offers insights into Washington’s military career and legacy. Cocktail attire is recommended.
