FHYAA Names Jackson Casey Memorial Scholarship Winners

Clare Spitnale and Darien Pickett were named the winners of the 2014 Jackson Casey Memorial Scholarships, according to The Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association. The two were selected from a pool of applicants, all of whom were asked to describe in 750-1,200 words the life lessons they learned through their participation in Fort Hunt youth athletics.

NVFAA benefit held at historic Athenaeum.

The Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association held its second annual La Zona Rosa reception Oct. 5 at the historic Athenaeum in Old Town. “This is a way for us to thank our supporters and board members as well as to welcome our incoming board,” said NVFAA board chair Amy Heiden. “This is the second year for this fundraiser and a fun way for us to say ‘thank you’ to our members.”

Reston Bike Club Presents Jersey Design Contest Awards

The Reston Bike Club (RBC), over the last five years, has worked with the South Lakes High School Fine Arts Department: Each year, the RBC brings a jersey design contest to the school and with the help of Amy Saylor, fine arts teacher, art students get a chance to implement their newly-learned skills in submitting designs to the club.
