On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Council for the Arts of Herndon hosted a black-tie benefit to celebrate thirty years of supporting the arts and arts education in the Herndon community. The silent and live auctions alone raised nearly $6,000 to benefit the Council for the Arts programs and scholarships.

Fairfax County Students Receive DAR Awards
Providence Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has announced the 2014 recipients of two DAR awards. The DAR Youth Citizenship Medal is presented to fifth and sixth grade students who fulfill the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism. The Outstanding Work in American History Medal is presented to students in any grade for excellence in American history studies.
Letter: Many Behind Fundraiser’s Success
On May 19, Chantilly National Golf and Country Club hosted their Annual Cancer Fundraiser which was organized by members of the Social Tennis Committee along with many other wonderful volunteers. This year we were able to raise over $3,000 to donate to the American Cancer Society with the help of many local businesses and individuals who contributed gift baskets, gift cards or items for our Silent Auction and Raffle.
